As an Integrative Counsellor, I will work with you on an individual basis, ensuring I listen to what you want, and fit my approach to you the person. We are all different after all, and no two people will have exactly the same outlook or feelings about a particular issue or problem. In my counselling practice I integrate aspects of different theoretical models, Person Centred, Brief Solution Focused and Psychodynamic, as well as elements of Mindfulness and Transactional Analysis as appropriate. I also enjoy thinking about creative ways of engaging with my clients, but only if this would be of interest to them. For example, maybe using artwork, a piece of music or an object, to explore feelings or issues that are difficult to talk about.
My aim is to always support and guide you along the way, not to tell you what to do or what direction to take. Exploring your life can be a painful journey, you might want to stop and start a number of times before being able to go forward, and that’s OK. The reward at the end will be worth it – even if you only change one aspect of your life, it will still be change, which in itself can lead to further change.
Counselling can offer you insight into your own challenges, and greater clarity about how you might make positive changes in your life. It may also help you to feel more confident and happy with yourself, your life and relationships.
